Who are the cidergang?
We are a small, sociable community group committed to making sure every apple reaches its rightful place in our kitchens, traditions and hearts.
We call ourselves The Cidergang because cidermaking is the main activity through which we share our love of apple collecting, pressing, fermentation and experimentation.
We also share very good juice and cider; especially when people help us find the apples we need.
The Cidergang is immensely proud to work with amazing local communities that include The Lost Gardens of Heligan, People&Gardens and Edible St Austell. We plan to work again with these great people and get involved alongside more.
In 2021 - our very first year - we brewed 140 gallons of cider; some was bottled and some was matured in chestnut barrels.
Last year was a race to keep pace with an early harvest following the heatwave. The local apple trees really came through for us however enabling a generous 450 gallon brew. Thank You!
So long as apples fall The Cidergang will scratt, press, decant, ferment and blend like crazy.
You've got to have a dream and ours is apples with a CIC; that's a Community Interest Company - and plenty of super people to help it grow like a good orchard should.
You are welcome already, but if you need ideas we have plenty to share. Would you like to. . .
